Found a movie I wanted to watch before the Oscars.
... good only 14 minutes remaining ...
Tonight marks the start of my favorite time of year for watching television.
It all starts in late February with the Oscars. I think I like the Oscars because it is the ultimate reality TV show. Most of us work at our craft for many years in obscurity. To be recognized is a one-time event. No one can know the know the depths of our valleys until we see our greatest peak.
... crap now 24 minutes remaining ...
Then March Madness. Perhaps the only pure sports event left. It is not so much the games, but the fun, even amongst the most casual of fans, of picking "brackets". Since my children were very young, and well before it could be done on computers, my wife and I would ask all of our children to pick the games, and write down their predictions. Even before they watched games, they became interested in their scores. That family tradition is going on 27 years.
... ok at least holding steady at 24 minutes remaining ...
Then the Masters. Unless you are from the North, you can't understand why watching the Masters is a right of spring. While it has stopped snowing; it is still cold. And the Masters scenery is a metaphor for rebirth and hope. It is also another great reality show. It is less about the golf, than the story arcs everyday. All finally ending, when there is only one player left standing, a family celebrating, and only the most-hardened of people not breaking a tear. Again, like the Oscars of 45 days earlier, the peak is celebrated and the valleys forgotten for a brief period of time.
... now damn it there are now 29 minutes remaining.
Thanks Apple. You just ruined my lovely mood and blog for today. Instead of developing the next i-Something, could you just please upgrade your server farm? When checkout time is longer on a download, than driving my car to BlockBusted, there is something very wrong.
Screw the Oscars, March Madness and the Masters. I am not leaving this PC until this damn $9.99 purchase is completed or at least until the amount of "minutes remaining" starts to go down.
... now 29 minutes remaining ...
